P.C.I.T. (Parent Child Interaction Therapy) PCIT is the quintessential tool for the mental health providers of today. It can be utilized in a variety of different ways by the psychologist. This will allow the therapy to be tailored for each patients specific needs. The CAARE Center, of the University of California at Davis Medical Center, in association with our engineering staff at SSL Industries, Inc., have developed very stable and flexible electronic systems for PCIT. The primary system configuration is compose of a high resolution digital video system, dynamically accurate boundary surface audio system, and wireless UHF talk-back receivers. These are all recorded on the media platform of your choice. Therapy rooms have been installed in large recreational vehicles and offices; we have also designed partial systems for portable applications. There are several groups that have requested systems that are capable of being viewed remotely. Teaching applications for multiple therapists to learn in a hands on environment, have become very important. Whatever your need, or your organizations requirements are, SSL will endeavor to help you Design and Create your Concept. Our design staff will assist you in all aspects of your systems layout. There are several design criteria that must be put into the process. Many conundrums can be encountered in both the therapy and observation room designs. Lighting, electrical, door and window placement, and acoustics, are just a few of the possible traps that maybe encountered. We will be glad to work directly with you, your general and electrical contractors to avoid future problems. This eliminates the necessity of you wasting time, or having a communications error occur. This will lower the installation costs of the PCIT system, and keeps the installation flowing seamlessly and efficiently. All of our designs are meant to be a turnkey start-up for you. They are very easy to use, allowing you to concentrate on your patient, not the equipment.

P.C.I.T. System Configuration This user friendly turnkey system, consists of the following components. The first is a high resolution articulating color camera system, mounted in a beautiful oak corner enclosure. This protects the camera, and the design allows you to get critical facial features of the patients. Highly sensitive boundary surface condenser microphones are strategically located within the therapy room. They will allow you to hear and record even low speaking children. A very sophisticated miniature UHF wireless radio system allows you to speak to the adults through a BTE (behind the ear receiver) attached to their ear. You can use as many receivers as you like. They are the size of a standard hearing aid, and have no wires or antennas to get in the way. Multiple rooms can be accommodated side by side by utilizing frequency allocation. All of the audio and video information is then sent to be recorded. Both audio channels are discretely recorded so that you can play back both, or each channel separately, at a later date. The session will be time and date stamped for achieving and playback logging requirements. The recording medium can vary from a VCR, DVD, cassette, and more. We will be happy to discuss the different options and their pros and cons. Additional P.C.I.T. Systems That Are Available (There are addtional systems available besides the one mentioned above.) 1) We have a Therapist to client desktop transmission system consisting of the following : a desktop microphone, a wireless transmitter which needs power from a wall outlet and one BTE (behind the ear receiver) receiver for the client to wear. 2) There is also a truely portable Battery Operated P.C.I.T. system consisting of the following: a wireless bodypack transmitter, a microphone and one BTE receiver for the client to wear. This system is best utilized when the therapist and the client are in the same room. 3) We can also design hybrid systems for specific client driven applications.
